Corporate insolvencies in Scotland decreased by 5% to 298 during the second quarter, from 313 during the same period in 2024.

The latest Accountant in Bankruptcy figures also showed a 10% drop quarter-on-quarter.

Personal insolvencies in Scotland also decreased, by 8% to 1,780 in the second quarter, down from 1,935 in the first quarter and a decrease 6% compared to the same period in 2024.

There was a significant reduction in the number of Protected Trust Deeds and a small reduction in Debt Arrangement Schemes, however there were 724 bankruptcies awarded in the second quarter this year - up 27.9% year-on-year.
