Over her more than 25-part storytime titled “I was in love with my psychiatrist and he kept me anyway,” what seemed like an entertaining online narrative became increasingly disturbing.

To an audience of almost 7 million people, Kendra Hilty explained that she had fallen in love with her psychiatrist — a man she started seeing around 2021 .
