Tuesday was another day of court watch as Portlanders wait to see whether a federal judge will clear the way for President Donald Trump to deploy National Guard troops to the city or allow temporary barriers preventing that troop deployment to remain in place.
On Monday, a federal appeals court ruled against an earlier decision by Oregon U.S. District Judge Karin J. Immergut that had blocked Trump from deploying Oregon National Guard troops in the state. A second order by Immergut blocking troops from any state remained in place, preventing troops from being automatically deployed .
