LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the leg Tuesday evening in the Russell neighborhood.

At about 9:45 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of West Chestnut Street, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his right thigh. He was taken to UofL Hospital where officials say they expect him to survive.
