Knicks superfan Spike Lee had some epic courtside battles with Bulls great Michael Jordan, the director recalled at the Montclair Film Festival in New Jersey over the weekend.
“I’ve had the privilege and honor to be called a ‘motherf-ker’ by the GOAT himself — many times — across the river at the world’s most famous arena,” the Brooklyn native said of his time at Madison Square Garden during his Garden State talk.
We hear Lee recalled the famed “double nickel” game at MSG, when Jordan dropped an astonishing 55 points on the Knicks in 1995.
“Anytime the Bulls would come, me and Mike would get into it,” Lee recalled with a laugh. “At one point he said, ‘Sit your skinny black ass down!’”
The “Do The Right Thing” director also recalled the media frenzy after the Knicks’ tough Indiana loss
