Four people were hospitalized after a van struck a bear on Route 80 in Morris County, Monday, Oct. 20, authorities said.
At 8:52 p.m., a Ford van carrying 12 people struck the bear on Route 80 East in Roxbury Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesperson for the New Jersey State police said.
Four passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. Two additional passenger vehicles subsequently struck the bear, and no injuries were reported, Lebron said.
The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said. The condition of the bear has not been disclosed.
