A 25-year-old man has been convicted after a firearm was recovered from the Roseburn Path area of Edinburgh in June.

Liam McDermid plead guilty to a serious organised crime offence at the High Court in Edinburgh today, Wednesday, 22 October, 2025.

The firearm was recovered from the Roseburn Path area by officers investigating Operation Portaledge, on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.

The path was cordoned off by police for several days around that time.
