So there we have it. The Conservatives, seemingly without even really realising it, have put forward one of the most extreme anti-immigration policies issued by any political party in British history.

Indeed, it is one of the most extreme anti-immigration policies put forward by any country. Certainly, it is qualitatively more extreme than the policy being pursued by Donald Trump in the US and quantitatively more extreme than the mass expulsion policy pursued by dictator Idi Amin in Uganda.

It is a policy of such madness and moral depravity that it should condemn those who support it to perpetual social ostracisation. The fact that this kind of policy can be published without a chorus of condemnation indicates that we are in a very dark place indeed. We are sinking fast into the swam
