The Bozeman High girls soccer team closed the regular season on a three-game winning streak, outscoring opponents 11-1 in that stretch. After having just four wins through the first 11 games before that, those wins helped the Hawks gather some momentum for the postseason.
This year’s Hawks are younger than the teams of the last two seasons, which won consecutive Class AA state championships, so they’re happy to be seen as underdogs now.
“At the beginning of the season, we started out pretty rocky,” sophomore Ellah Bailey said. “We had to rebuild a whole team, and everyone had to learn how to play together again. I think we're peaking at the right time.”
Bailey scored both of Eastern AA No. 4 seed Bozeman’s goals in a 2-1 win Tuesday against No. 5 seed Billings Skyview in the first round
