CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — A hearing is scheduled for Friday in Kanawha County Circuit Court over a challenge to the deployment of members of the West Virginia National Guard to Washington.
The West Virginia Citizen Action Group, represented by attorneys with the American Civil Liberties Union, filed a suit at the end of August alleging Gov. Patrick Morrisey improperly ordered WVNG members to Washington to provide assistance to the “D.C. Safe and Beautiful” mission.
The group plans to request a temporary restraining order ending the Guard's deployment.
