WHEELING, W.VA. (WV News) — U.S. Attorney Matthew L. Harvey is encouraging residents to participate in this weekend’s Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a crucial national effort for the safe disposal of unneeded medications.
Law enforcement and DEA partners will host the collection event Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at locations across the Northern District of West Virginia and the country. The initiative offers free and anonymous disposal of old, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs to prevent drug misuse and abuse.
Harvey stressed that while progress has been made, continuous preventative measures are essential.
