An IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Srinagar made an emergency landing at Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi on Wednesday.
According to IANS, the emergency landing took place after a fuel leak was suspected. All 166 passengers and crew members onboard were safe, and no harm was reported. Normal flight operations resumed at the airport, authorities confirmed.
“The pilot of IndiGo Airlines flight number 6961 noticed some fuel leak, after which he immediately contacted the Air Traffic Controller (Varanasi) and requested priority landing,” Times of India quoted LBSI Airport Director Puneet Gupta as saying.
