PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley is still holding the Senate floor more than 15 hours after he first took over Tuesday night.

The senator said he is "ringing the alarm bells about Trump's growing authoritarianism."

"Americans are standing up because the President is not a king, the law is not a suggestion, and the Constitution is not optional," Sen. Merkley said.
