Duke basketball enters the season as the No. 5 team in the country, per the USA Today Sports Preseason Men's basketball coaches poll released on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The Blue Devils are coming off a 35-4 finish in 2024-25 with a trip to the Final Four, finishing the season ranked as the No. 3 team in the country. Entering their fourth season under coach Jon Scheyer, they return six members from last year's squad while bringing in the nation's top-ranked recruiting class for the second straight-year along with some transfer portal additions.
