The Icemen opened the weekend Friday with a game against the Sherwood Park Knights at Randy Rosen Arena. Article content Article content
Both teams were shut out in the first period, but the Knights opened the scoring with a powerplay goal late in the second. Icemen Brodie Banack came back with a powerplay goal of his own to tie the game in what would be the Icemen’s only goal of the game as the Knights added a pair of even strength goals in the third to take the win 3-1.
“We outshot them 45-30 but they had a good goaltending performance,” said Icemen head coach Marc Gagnon.
