The Boston Red Sox have some money to work with in free agency after trading Rafael Devers and his contract to the San Francisco Giants earlier this year. They could use those funds to ink Alex Bregman to a new deal.
Bregman will reportedly opt out of his deal and test free agency again. He had an All-Star season for the first time since 2019, and should be able to find a more lucrative deal in free agency. However, the length of his next deal could be a big talking point.
Bregman is 31 and missed a chunk of time with a quad strain. However, when healthy, he was key to the Red Sox's success. He hit .273 with an .821 OPS. From 2020 to 2024 hit .261 with a .795 OPS. He showed he can still be a star in the league, but his age is a real concern when it comes to him getting a new deal. Bleac
