In a sharp political attack ahead of a statewide bandh, the opposition CPI(M) in Tripura on Wednesday likened the ruling BJP–Tipra Motha alliance to a “husband and wife” relationship, accusing both partners of enacting a drama to mislead the people of the state.

Addressing the media at the CPI(M) headquarters in Agartala, Opposition Leader and CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury alleged that the ongoing public rift between the BJP and its tribal ally Tipra Motha was nothing more than political theatrics.
