A gau rakshak was critically injured after being allegedly shot by a cattle trader named Ibrahim at Ghatkesar near Hyderabad. The incident occurred when Singh intercepted a vehicle suspected of cattle smuggling. Police have launched a manhunt for the accused.

Hyderabad: A gau rakshak ( cow vigilante ) was allegedly shot at by cattle traders at Ghatkesar on the city outskirts on Wednesday. His condition is reportedly critical.

Sonu Singh, alias Prashanth, a resident of Rampally, Ghatkesar, received information about cattle being smuggled in a DCM vehicle and stopped it. One person, Ibrahim, who was seated in the vehicle, reportedly took Sonu to an open place by the roadside and during a discussion, allegedly shot him.
