Clark Public Utilities commissioners vote to increase water rates next year

Clark Public Utilities’ water customers will see their rates increase next year, the first bump in 12 years.

The utility’s board of commissioners voted Tuesday morning to raise rates Jan. 1 for its roughly 41,000 water customers.

“I appreciate that no one likes increases,” Commissioner Jane Van Dyke said. “It’s always the hardest thing we have to do as a board.
