In a landmark move, Zhavame Village in Nagaland’s Phek district and the Paodukhumai Clan of Tungjoy village in Manipur's Senapati district have signed a Boundary Agreement, amicably resolving a decades-old land dispute.

The agreement was signed on October 14, 2025 by a Joint Goodwill Mission formed by both parties, which stated the accord was reached “in the spirit of brotherhood and Christianity.”

The dispute, which had caused tensions and insecurity for years, was addressed after the Joint Goodwill Mission was formed in a meeting on August 22, 2022.

“This comes in the wake of a long-standing traditional land dispute spanning several decades resulting in tensions and insecurities for both the concerned parties for many years,” the Joint Goodwill Mission stated in a press release.
