HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Three new medical buildings will be constructed where the former Ponderosa Bowling Center once stood after the Hastings City Planning Commission unanimously approved the final plat for the Ponderosa Park redevelopment project Tuesday afternoon.
The plan calls for demolishing the former Ponderosa building, which closed in 1996 and has been used for storage by a local business. In July 2024, the city council approved a conditional use permit to develop the space into three separate medical clinics as part of the Hastings Medical Park.
Kevin Kubo, director of development services, said the location offers several advantages for medical facilities.
“The advantage is that it’s right next to an existing medical park, and that’s a use that fits very well in there,” Kubo
