However, Squid Game series catapulted him to global stardom. Known worldwide as Player No 456/ Gi-Hun, he is a matinee idol in South Korea and the crush of many. It seems he became part of a romance scam as someone impersonated him. As per a report in JTBC, a woman in her 50s (known in the media as Ms. A) was defrauded of approximately 500 million KRW i.e. USD 350,000. The culprits identified themselves as team of actor Lee Jung-jae.
