Jarrett Farms, a well-known wedding and event venue, is set to go up for auction after owner Dave Stewart says he unknowingly signed a loan with an increasing interest rate. Despite community support and efforts to delay the sale, the venue’s final day of operation will be Oct. 27.

Stewart said the loan terms changed unexpectedly, making it impossible to keep up with payments. “We thought we would get to do more and have the opportunity to bless more people, but we are also uncertain as to how that could happen without a miracle of the Lord,” Stewart said.

He explained that the decision to auction the property came only after months of exploring every option to keep the business open.
