As the demolition of the Morley Markets comes to an end, its well-known sign remains untouched — a reminder of the much-loved shopping centre’s history.

The questions have been asked: Should the city try to keep the sign? Does it hold enough historical significance to retain it?

PerthNow understands City of Bayswater staff will be reaching out to the owners to discuss the sign’s future.

The sign is on City of Bayswater land but is owned by the owners of the Morley Market.

Residents shared their views and ideas regarding the future of the sign and whether the city should try to retain it.
