A historic downtown Baltimore diner is under new management for the second time in less than two years.
Saturday Morning Cafe owner William Sterling has taken over operations at Werner's Diner, Sterling told the Baltimore Business Journal this week. The change comes just over a year after Clark Hospitality, a group with ties to local restaurants Proper Cuisine and Papi Cuisine, took charge of the diner at 231 W. Redwood St.
The diner, which has now reopened after a temporary closure announcement in May, will keep the Werner's name and features classics from the 75-year-old diner as well as menu items from Saturday Morning Cafe. Sterling said he is striving to "go back to the basics." Some dishes on the menu include eggs Benedict with crab, breakfast burritos, omelets, br
