Eastpointe is in a holding pattern with regard to phase three of its Nine Mile Road reconstruction plan.

Eastpointe received a total of 88 responses from members of the community regarding a proposed Nine Mile Road lane reduction between Tuscany Avenue and Kelly Road.

Comments were gathered during an Oct. 15 public forum and through emails sent to Assistant City Manager Kim Homan.

According to Interim City Manager Elke Doom, 78 of the responses opposed the road diet while 10 supported it.

Homan said the responses have now been forwarded to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) but that the city has not yet received a response regarding the road diet plan.
