Arson is a very serious crime. The destruction of property through fire is incredibly dangerous and sometimes life-threatening.

When lives are lost due to the carelessness of fire, eyebrows can be raised, and that's exactly what's happening in the Capital Region in the wake of a horrific tragedy.

Deadly Fire in Albany

On the morning of Monday, October 6th, Albany Fire and Police responded to a call at Twiller Street after reports indicated that a fire had broken out. When at the scene, officers saw a home completely engulfed in flames, and soon realized that there were people trapped inside.

Albany Firefighters made an attempt to save the victims, unfortunately falling short. Five were pronounced dead. The victims were 52 year old Erick DeCamp, 47 year old Eric Peterson, and three youn
