Darren Waller’s comeback has been halted for the time being.

The Dolphins tight end landed on injured reserve Wednesday with a pec strain following a scintillating start to the year in his retirement.

Waller suffered the injury during the team’s 31-6 loss to the Browns last Sunday, and is eligible to return in Week 12, although the scuffling Dolphins may be playing out the string at that point. 3

“It was soft tissue,” Miami coach Mike McDaniel said Monday, per ESPN . “It’s a situation that probably it would be living in hope to see him in the upcoming next weeks’ games, but he’ll be diligent. This means a lot to him, but that’s kind of where I’m at with it right now with the information I have.”
