Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse has earned a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Alexander Haskell, he told 247 Sports .

Haskell is one of several recruits that decommitted from Penn State after James Franklin’s firing more than a week ago. Since then, Syracuse has been on the phones trying to land several of those recruits.

The Orange managed to land Haskell less than 24 hours after he announced his decommitment.

The Class of 2026 recruit plays at Philadelphia powerhouse St. Joe’s Prep, former Orange quarterback Kyle McCord’s alma mater. He originally chose Penn State over Syracuse and Michigan in the spring. Now, Syracuse was able to land him thanks to the strong ties head coach Fran Brown and defensive coordinator Elijah Robinson have built in the area.
