Brookside has paid a heartbreaking tribute to Dean Sullivan during its crossover episode with Hollyoaks.

The Channel 4 soap made a sensational comeback on Wednesday evening (October 22), marking 22 years since its final episode. The Liverpool-based soap crossed over with Hollyoaks to mark its 30th anniversary with an explosive one-off special.

Brookside's first episode aired on November 2, 1982, and initially introduced 12 characters and three original families. This included Ricky Tomlinson as Bobby Grant, Sue Johnston as wife Sue and their sons Barry and Damon, played by Paul Usher and Simon O'Brien.

Actor Dean Sullivan arrived on Brookside four years later as loveable rogue Jimmy Corkhill. He stayed on the show from 1986 until the show's last episode in 2003. View 3 Images READ
