The impasse over the 2026 Brant Brantford Paramedic Services budget has been resolved.

The paramedics services committee on Monday recommended approval of a budget that increases the number of ambulances to nine from 8.5.

But the recommendation comes with two conditions.

The extra ambulance, the equivalent of a 12-hour shift, won’t be added to the service until Oct. 1, 2026. And, putting it into service is subject to paramedic service committee approval at its June 2026 meeting.
