Immigration agents took at least five people into custody in Little Village on Wednesday, the neighborhood’s alderman said, as agents apparently running operations in Cicero and on the city’s Southwest Side appeared to detain a woman during a confrontation that involved Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino.

Chicago Ald. Mike Rodríguez, 22nd Ward, who represents Little Village on the City Council, said a U.S. citizen was among those taken into custody.

“We chased them out of the neighborhood,” Rodríguez said. “They caused a scene here in Cicero.”
