MARTINSBURG - Nearly a century after it first opened its doors in downtown Martinsburg, Patterson’s Drug Store celebrated the grand opening of its new location Friday, marking another chapter in one of Martinsburg’s longest-running businesses.
The independent pharmacy, now in its 99th year, moved from its longtime South Queen Street storefront to a new site at 311 Medical Court. Owner Elaine Lozois-Hobday, who has worked at Patterson’s for 37 years and owned it since 2015, said the change was a difficult but necessary step to keep the store thriving.
