Giants sign WR who made 62 catches last season after surprise cut

The New York Giants are adding some potential offensive firepower.

On Wednesday, the Giants signed Ray-Ray McCloud to their practice squad, according to beat reporter Art Stapleton .

The move comes a day after McCloud was surprisingly released by the Atlanta Falcons .

McCloud's tenure in Atlanta ended very oddly. He was a healthy scratch two weeks in a row before being cut, after being the team's No. 3 WR to start the season.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the cut like this: "The #Falcons released WR Ray-Ray McCloud III, who was sent home from the facility last week and didn't play this weekend."
