Left behind by someone who should have cared for her, Maeve roamed the streets of Youngstown, Ohio. She was a black dog with no home, no comfort, and no one to turn to.

With nothing else to rely on, Maeve searched for scraps of food to quiet her hunger. Her days were spent wandering, and her nights were filled with fear.

Then tragedy struck. Maeve was hit by a car, and no one stopped to help.

Severely injured and starving, Maeve made a heartbreaking decision: she would no longer trust people. The pain they had caused her ran too deep.
