Birmingham residents have been warned of heavy rain as Storm Benjamin hits parts of Britain.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for the city, among other areas of the country.

The warning is in place for most of Thursday, October 23, from midnight until 6pm.

Drivers were told to expect an "increased chance of accidents", longer journey times and "difficult driving conditions."

Spray on the roads and flooding was also predicted, according to the alert.
