Teams of Assumption College students are gearing up for the school’s annual food drive.

Assumption Scares Hunger 2025 is an effort coordinated by students in teacher Ella Torto’s social justice and equity class to become involved in the community and bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity in Brantford.

“This year we have 55 different routes across Brantford, and close to Mount Pleasant as well,” said team lead Simran Ghotra. “Between October 16 and 26, the groups will distribute flyers to all the homes on their assigned routes with information about what the food drive is, why we’re doing it, where the donations are going and why it’s important.”
