The Baltimore Orioles' season went haywire fast after a disappointing offseason that saw ace Corbin Burnes walk, and with no real replacement added to their pitching staff. Despite these struggles, the core of young players is still intact, and a quick turnaround could occur for the team in the future.

The Orioles traded All-Star first baseman Ryan O'Hearn at the trade deadline, and Orioles insider Roch Kubatko of MASN put reunion thoughts on ice in his mailbag article.

"The problem with bringing back O’Hearn," Kubatko wrote, "is that first base isn’t open."

While a reunion with O'Hearn would be a welcome move for the Orioles, there is simply no room for him at first base in the coming season. If Coby Mayo breaks camp, that would put a possible four options for the first base position
