A teenager was arrested Wednesday on a charge of first-degree felony murder in the fatal shooting of another teen in Orange County last month, police say.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said a 15-year-old boy was arrested in the killing of 17-year-old Jahriel Huertas, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded around 6 p.m. on Sept. 26 to the 4900 block of Keith Place in the Pine Hills neighborhood in response to a shooting and found Huertas had been shot. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead the next day, the release said.
The suspect was also arrested on a charge of possession of a firearm by a minor. He was taken to the Orange County Juvenile Assessment Center, the release shows. No other information was included in the release.
