WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rochelle woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal Monday morning crash on Interstate 88.

The Winnebago County Coroner on Wednesday identified the deceased as 27-year-old Aracelil Zepeda.

According to authorities, around 9:22 a.m., Zepeda was the passenger in a vehicle headed westbound on I-88 when the car collided with another vehicle, lost control, and crashed into a treeline.

Zepeda was found unresponsive at the scene and was airlifted to a Rockford hospital.

She was pronounced dead at 7:59 p.m.

Results of an autopsy are pending.

Illinois State Police said multiple people were injured in the crash.
