WYOMING, Mich. — The Wyoming Police Department says that after four years, they're entering the final stage of the reaccreditation process with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

On Monday, Oct. 27, the department will be visited by a CALEA assessor. The assessor will conduct an on-site review over four days.

The reaccreditation process takes four years as the department undergoes "a comprehensive examination of the department's policies, procedures, management, operations and support services."

The department said that the reaccreditation would ensure the following:

Enhanced public trust, by confirming that department practices are ethical, transparent, and consistent with national standards.
