Jeff Daniels broke out the acoustic guitar on MSNBC ’s Deadline: White House yesterday to perform an original protest song that was inspired by the “No Kings” protests against Donald Trump .
In introducing the track, Daniels said, “This is a song I wrote called ‘Crazy World,’ which is how I cope.” Despite the inspiration for the song, and Daniels’ own distaste for Trump, “Crazy World” isn’t overtly political, with the actor instead filling his verses with little moments of kindness and joy: A dog wagging its tail; singing songs at daybreak and sunset; strangers shaking hands; a quiet moment of affection between an old married couple.
