Roy awoke Tuesday morning, believing he was off to Place Bell in Laval and the start of the Rocket’s three-game road trip through Belleville, Rochester and Utica.

Instead, he had to get to Brossard and the Canadiens’ practice after being recalled by the team . The text from Laval general manager John Sedgwick was sent Monday night after Montreal’s win against Buffalo, but Roy was already sleeping.

The timing of the recall meant Roy accompanied the Canadiens on their four-game road trip that begins Wednesday night in Calgary. He got to fly on the team’s charter instead of taking the Rocket’s team bus to Belleville.
