Srinagar, Oct 22: Demonstrating exemplary promptness and professionalism, police in Shopian successfully recovered a kidnapped minor girl within hours of her abduction from the Chitragam area of Zainapora and arrested the accused.
The matter came to light when SHO Police Station Zainapora received a WhatsApp message from a resident of Chitragam Zainapora, reporting that his 11-year-old sister had gone missing from her home around 1400 hours, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
Acting swiftly, Police Station Zainapora registered e-FIR No. 91/2025 under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an immediate investigation, he added.
