Srinagar, Oct 22: Despite the completion of one year of the elected government, the promises made by the elected representative and local leader of the Handwara constituency remain unfulfilled. During the election campaign, the leader had assured people of clean drinking water, better roads, healthcare, education, and employment. One year later, locals say nothing has changed.

The issue of potable drinking water, which was described as the main concern of Handwara and Rajwar, still remains unresolved. In Rajpora village, of Rajwae where four family members lost their lives while fetching water, residents were promised regular water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
