FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- A woman has accepted a plea deal after being charged with leaving the scene after crashing into a man crossing Covington Road, who later died.

Salma Nadrous, 64, pleaded guilty to the charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a Level 4 felony.

The plea agreement states that Nadrous will be sentenced to six years, with three years to be served as prison time and the other three on probation.

On Jan. 31, Nadrous crashed into Ronald Bjella, 61, as he was crossing Covington Road near Getz Road.

Bjella was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
