WASHINGTON — Americans who receive social security benefits will soon know how much more they'll get on their checks next year.

The will be announced on Friday, Oct. 24. The announcement was initially supposed to come out Oct. 15, but was delayed due to the ongoing government shutdown.

Last week, the confirmed that the 2025 September inflation report will be released on Friday, Oct. 24, at 8:30 a.m. ET.

"No other releases will be rescheduled or produced until the resumption of regular government service," the agency said "This release allows the Social Security Administration to meet statutory deadlines necessary to ensure the accurate and timely payment of benefits."

The annual will reveal how much money retirees will receive on their checks every month starting in January 2026.
