CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Hundreds of Clay County students are receiving new shoes through a statewide donation program hosted by the Kentucky Magistrates and Commissioners Association.
On Wednesday, the association delivered more than 800 pairs of brand-new shoes to Clay County students, beginning distribution at Big Creek Elementary School.
“The membership of the association donates new shoes for children and donates monetary contributions all from their own wallets and then we take them in purchase shoes, new shoes for students,” said JC Young, executive director of the Kentucky Magistrates and Commissioners Association.
The program started small but has now provided more than 7,000 pairs of shoes to students throughout Kentucky. This marks the 11th year for the program, which relies
