CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools coach has been arrested in connection with a shooting, police announced Wednesday.

Dia'Mond Johnson, 27, is facing two counts of shooting into occupied property. Johnson was arrested in York County, South Carolina, and is awaiting extradition to Mecklenburg County.

Police did not provide specific information about the shooting for which Johnson is accused. However, officials say the incident did not involve any student, teacher, or faculty.

Johnson was a non-faculty member coach at CMS, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Police did not specify what he coached with the district.

Johnson is being held in York County jail without bond, according to jail records.
