DENVER (KDVR) -- The city of Boulder is set to begin converting right lanes on Arapahoe Avenue between 28th Street and 63rd Street into bus and turn lanes.
The city said Wednesday that the right lanes are being "underutilized" and that the work will take place from Oct. 23-24 and Nov. 6-7, depending on the weather.
The new bus and turn lanes will be curbside lanes dedicated to buses and right turning vehicles, according to the city, which said the lanes will "improve travel for all."
The city said the lanes will reduce vehicle conflicts with busses, speed up transit travel times, improve access to businesses along the street, support reliable travel times for drivers and make it easier to make right turns into intersections and driveways.
